Purpose of the Activity: The NSS Unit conducted a public awareness activity on the occasion of World AIDS Day by tying red ribbons to citizens in the community. The objective was to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS, promote prevention measures, reduce social stigma, and encourage people to support the global fight against HIV. The red ribbon signified solidarity and compassion towards those affected.

Outcome: The activity saw active participation from NSS volunteers as they interacted with the public, tied red ribbons, and shared key messages on HIV/AIDS awareness. Citizens responded positively and appreciated the initiative. The activity helped volunteers enhance communication skills, promote social responsibility, and successfully spread awareness about World AIDS Day in the community.

Purpose of the Activity: The NSS unit of college collaborating with Chidanand charitable trust blood centre successfully organizing a Blood Donation camp at SIA College was to spread awareness about the significance of voluntary blood donation and eye care among students, staff, and the local community. It aimed to encourage social responsibility and a spirit of service among the youth by involving them in meaningful health-related initiatives.

Outcome: The outcome of the camp was highly positive. A total of 35 units of blood were collected, which will help save lives in emergencies. The event successfully promoted health awareness and community engagement, while also fostering teamwork and volunteerism among students. Overall, the camp was well-received and proved to be a valuable initiative by the NSS Unit of SIA College.

Purpose of the Activity: The NSS unit of college collaborating with Heramb eye hospital successfully organizing a Eye check up camp at SIA College was to spread awareness about eye care among students, staff and local community . The camp provided an opportunity for individuals to receive free eye check-ups and necessary guidance regarding vision problems.

Outcome: The outcome of the camp was highly positive. Over 164 individuals benefited from the free eye check-up services and received expert advice for further treatment if needed. The event successfully promoted eye care awareness. while also fostering teamwork and volunteerism among students. Overall, the camp was well-received and proved to be a valuable initiative by the NSS Unit of SIA College.

Purpose of the Activity: Our NSS unit of The SIA College of Higher Education performed the flashmob On "Kargil Vijay Diwas" a day that marks India's victory in the kargil war of 1999. To pay heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation.. Through the power of dance and synchronized movements, the students of the NSS unit conveyed the emotions of pride, gratitude, and respect for the bravery exhibited by the armed forces.

Outcome: The choice of a flashmob as a medium made the tribute more vibrant and engaging, capturing the attention of all who witnessed it. The performance symbolized unity, patriotism, and the unwavering spirit of those who fought for the nation. This tribute was more than just a performance; it was a collective expression of national pride and a moment of reflection on the sacrifices that continue to inspire generations of Indians.

Purpose of the Activity: The NSS Unit of The S.I.A. College of Higher Education participated as volunteers in the 21st Kalyan Taluka Shivai Inter-School Varsha Mini Marathon 2025, organized by Shivai Balak Mandir Trust. The purpose was to support the smooth conduct of the event and encourage youth engagement in physical activities and community service. This initiative aimed to promote fitness, discipline, and collaboration among school students across Kalyan Taluka.

Outcome: Held on Sunday, 27th July 2025, the event witnessed large-scale participation from school students. NSS volunteers contributed to route coordination, hydration support, and crowd management. Their outstanding performance and commitment were recognized by the organizing trust. The activity fostered teamwork, event management skills, and a deeper sense of civic responsibility among the volunteers.

Purpose of the Activity: In an inspiring act of community involvement and social responsibility, the NSS unit of the college organized a Rakhi Selling Drive from 1st August to 10th August 2025. The primary objective of this 10-day initiative was to raise funds for the Saksham Special School, which supports the education and care of specially-abled children.

Outcome: The rakhis, handmade by students of Saksham Special School, showcased their creativity and dedication. NSS volunteers actively promoted and sold them within the college, ensuring that the proceeds supported the school and helped spread awareness about inclusive education. The event beautifully blended the festive spirit with a meaningful cause, demonstrating how students, educators, and institutions can unite for a positive impact.

Purpose of the Activity: The Rakhi Making Activity was organized to encourage volunteers to express their creativity while promoting the values of cultural heritage and eco-friendly celebrations. Over the course of two days, the activity aimed to engage volunteers in designing and crafting handmade rakhis, fostering teamwork, and enhancing artistic skills. It also sought to inspire participants to appreciate traditional festivals in a sustainable way, using environmentally friendly materials and innovative ideas.

Outcome: Over the two days, volunteers enthusiastically participated in making rakhis, exploring creative designs, unique patterns, and vibrant colour combinations. The collaborative atmosphere encouraged teamwork, skill-sharing, and a sense of accomplishment among participants. On Day 1, 35 rakhis were completed, and on Day 2, 77 more were made, bringing the total to 112 handmade rakhis. The activity successfully achieved its objectives of promoting creativity, preserving cultural traditions, and fostering environmental awareness in a joyful and engaging manner.

Purpose of the Activity: This Rakshabandhan, the NSS Unit of our college organized a special celebration to honor the hard-working officials of the RTO, Police Department, and Railway Protection Force in Dombivli. As these dedicated public servants are often too busy serving our nation to celebrate the festival with their own families, our students took the initiative to bring the festivities to them.

Outcome: The volunteers visited the local RTO office, police station, and Railway Protection Force outpost, carrying colorful rakhis and sweets. They warmly tied rakhis on the wrists of the officials, thanking them for their tireless efforts in maintaining law and order and ensuring the smooth functioning of public services.This heartfelt gesture was greatly appreciated by the recipients, who were visibly touched by the expression of gratitude and community spirit. For the volunteers, it was a meaningful and enriching experience—an opportunity to directly engage with and express respect for these unsung heroes of our society.Through this initiative, the NSS Unit set a remarkable example of how festivals can be celebrated inclusively, extending the spirit of brotherhood and camaraderie to those who work selflessly to keep us safe and secure.

Outcome: The screening motivated many viewers to pledge their organs and discuss the topic with their families. It successfully created a positive mind set towards organ donation, promoting the idea that "We can live even after death through the lives we save.”

Where dedicated volunteers came together to plant a variety of tree for a commendable effort to promote environmental sustainability.

Outcome: The tree plantation drive was a resounding success, with a significant number of trees being added to the landscape.The initiative resulted in a significant increase in green cover, contributing to a healthier environment and enhanced biodiversity. Through this drive, volunteers developed a deeper understanding of the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability. Overall, the tree plantation drive demonstrated the power of collaborative efforts in achieving a common goal of environmental conservation and sustainability.

Purpose of the Activity: Our NSS unit of The SIA College of Higher Education performed the flashmob On "79th Independence Day". As part of the festivities, they organized a flash-mob and pyramid to raise awareness about our nation’s brave heroes.

Outcome: The flash-mob performance was a sight to behold ,as a group of students came together to showcase a synchronized dance routine set to patriotic music. The performance symbolized unity, patriotism, and the unwavering spirit of those who fought for the nation. Through these engaging activities, the NSS Unit successfully engaged the community, educating them about the sacrifices and contributions of our freedom fighters .The flash-mob and pyramid not only entertained the audience but also instilled a deeper sense of patriotism and appreciation for our nation’s history.

Name of the Event: Nirmalya Collection Drive Day 1.

Venue: Kumbhakar khan Pada Juni Dombivli, Saat -Poll Jetti, Kopar Ghat, Reti -Bandar.

Purpose of the Activity: On every Ganpati Visarjan, the city is choked with hundreds of tons of paper, plastic, thermocol, flowers, fruits, and cloth. The practice of throwing these items in Visarjan well enhances the water pollution.

Outcome: Along with the city-based NGO 'Nirmalya Youth Foundation, NSS volunteers participated in the Nirmalya Collection Drive on the occasion of Ganpati Visarjan at various places in Dombivli for Five (5) hours. All the paper, plastic, thermocol, flowers, fruits, and cloth items along with Ganesh idol were collected before the immersion and dry waste (Plastic) and wet waste (Nirmalya) were segregated. Dry waste was handed over for recycling and wet waste for composting to the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC).

Purpose of the Activity: The NSS Unit of our college, in collaboration with the RTO and Mumbai Police, organized a dedicated Traffic Control Duty during the Ganpati immersion festivities. This initiative aimed to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance public safety while thousands participated in the Ganesh Visarjan.

Outcome: Volunteers played a crucial role in this effort, working diligently from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on 28 August 2025. It aimed to make people understand the importance of not sharing OTPs or passwords, avoiding suspicious links, and protecting personal information, while also highlighting real-life situations and consequences of online fraud in an engaging manner. The performance also served the purpose of representing our NSS unit at the zonal level, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and commitment to social causes.

Outcome: The outcome of this activity was very impactful, as the audience gained practical knowledge about preventing cyber threats such as phishing, online scams, and identity theft. They also became more aware of the importance of reporting incidents through official helplines and government portals. Outcome: The clothes collection drive was successfully completed. We received an overwhelming response from participants, collecting a significant number of clothes in good and usable condition. The collected items have been sorted, packed, and prepared for distribution to the identified beneficiaries. The drive helped promote awareness, social responsibility, and active participation among volunteers. Overall, the initiative achieved its objective effectively.

Purpose of the Activity: The NSS Unit of The S.I.A. College of Higher Education participated as volunteers in the Dombivlikar Friendship Run organized by the Kalyan Dombivli Runners. The primary objective of this involvement was to ensure the smooth and efficient execution of the event while promoting active youth participation in community service and physical fitness. This initiative aimed to instill discipline, teamwork, and a sense of social responsibility among the volunteers, as well as to encourage a spirit of collaboration and motivation among marathon participants.

Outcome: Held on Sunday, 09th November 2025, the event witnessed large-scale participation from marathon runners. NSS volunteers actively assisted in route coordination, hydration support, and crowd management. Their dedication and exemplary performance were acknowledged and appreciated by the organizing trust. The activity successfully enhanced teamwork, event management skills, and a deeper sense of civic responsibility among the volunteers.

Purpose of the Activity: The purpose of organising the visit to Mani Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya, Mumbai was to provide NSS volunteers with an opportunity to understand the life, principles, and contributions of Mahatma Gandhi more deeply. Through this visit, students were encouraged to explore Gandhi’s role in India’s freedom struggle, his philosophy of non-violence, truth, and simple living, and how these values remain relevant in today’s society. The activity aimed to inspire volunteers to develop a sense of social responsibility, moral discipline, and community-oriented thinking.

Outcome: The visit resulted in a meaningful learning experience for all NSS volunteers. Students gained first-hand insight into Mahatma Gandhi’s life, his works, and the historical events displayed at the museum. Volunteers developed a better understanding of the freedom movement and the sacrifices involved in shaping India’s independence. The interactive exhibits, photographs, and artefacts helped students connect with Gandhian ideals and reflect on the importance of peace, truth, and humanitarian service. Overall, the activity successfully enhanced students’ awareness of national history and encouraged them to apply Gandhian principles in their future social service initiatives.

Purpose of the Activity: The NSS Unit of The S.I.A. College of Higher Education participated in the Diabetes Eye Awareness Rally organized by Anil Eye Hospital to spread awareness about diabetes-related eye problems. The aim was to educate the community on early detection, regular eye check-ups, and healthy practices, while encouraging volunteers to engage in public health awareness.

Outcome: The rally, held on 15th November 2025, saw enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers and local residents. Volunteers supported route coordination, banner handling, and spreading awareness messages. Their teamwork and dedication were appreciated by Anil Eye Hospital. The activity helped promote public awareness about diabetes-related eye diseases and encouraged the community to go for regular eye check-ups.

Purpose of the Activity: The purpose of organizing the Pot Making and Colouring Activity was to encourage creativity, traditional art learning, and skill development among NSS volunteers. This activity aimed to provide hands-on experience in clay pot decoration while promoting patience, focus, teamwork, and cultural awareness. It also helped volunteers express their imagination and artistic ability through meaningful and engaging participation.

Outcome: The activity resulted in improved creativity and artistic confidence among volunteers. Participants learned new crafting techniques, enhanced teamwork, and developed better communication and coordination. The decorated pots were successfully completed and can be further used for display, events, or donation purposes. Overall, the activity created a positive learning environment and strengthened volunteer bonding while promoting cultural art values.

Purpose of the Activity: Under the NSS initiative "Visit My Police Station,” our volunteers visited the Tilak Nagar police station, Dombivli (East) to understand its functioning and the important role it plays in maintaining law and order. The officers warmly interacted with the students, explaining various departments, procedures for filing complaints, and the technology used in daily operations. Volunteers gained valuable insights into community policing, citizen responsibilities, and the challenges faced by police personnel. The visit helped create awareness, build mutual respect, and encouraged students to become responsible and informed citizens.

 

Outcome: The visit to the police station gave students a clear understanding of how the police work to maintain safety and law and order. They learned how complaints are handled, interacted with officers, and became more aware of their rights and responsibilities. The activity reduced fear of approaching the police and encouraged responsible citizenship. Overall, it was an informative and useful experience.
