Student Council Activities 2022-23


Name of the Committee: Student Council 

Name of the Event: Ganesh Aarti

Date: 8th September, 2022

Time: 9.20 a.m. to 10.00 a.m.

Venue : Ground Floor

Purpose of the Activity: To celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi

Outcome:

Council students commemorated Ganpati Festival with a great blast by decorating Lord Ganesh Idol and the college premises with lighting, flowers and rangoli.  All teaching staff, non – teaching staff and students were present for the Ganesh Aarti at 9.20 a.m. Everyone worshipped Lord Ganesha by offering an Aarti and by reciting bhajans of different languages like Kanada, Tamil, Sanskrit, Hindi and Marathi.

The Aarti ended by 10.10am. Prasad was distributed to all.  The celebration has given a positive vibe to the entire college.

Name of the Event: Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak Birth Anniversary

Date: 23rd July, 2022

Time: 9.20 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.

Venue : All Class rooms

Purpose of the Activity: To ensure that students know the contribution and sacrifice done by Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak

Outcome:

Student Council celebrated 165th birth anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. The council had decorated a black board in the entrance of college premises so that all the students as well as teachers would observe and duly offer their respects to one of our greatest freedom fighters. The students did a placard presentation of 5 minutes projecting the journey of Tilak from Samanya to Lokmanya in each and every class, thus ensuring that the works done by this great leader is known to the current generation.  The Presentation was made exciting by the council, one of the students dressed himself as Tilak and also gave a motivating speech.

The students audience through this event got to know many things about Lokmanya Tilak and his phenomenal work towards the country and also towards the country men.

Guru Poornima Celebration:

Guru Poornima was celebrated by Student Council on 13th July 2022 at 11:00 am in the College Auditorium. Teachers were welcomed at the doorstep by showering with flowers. Celebration started with lighting of lamp by Principal Madam, Vice Principal Madam, and all Departmental Convenors.

Anchors delivered a beautiful speech for the teachers. There was also a small skit which was performed depicting why Guru Poornima is celebrated? There was also a small surprise PPT interpreting qualities of beloved teachers written in poetic form just a small gesture to say thank you for bearing us. A small poem was also presented by TYBcom student based on theme "Teachers are unstoppable”

There were also small fun and interactive games organised for the teachers. Teachers also made the celebration entertaining by showcasing their talents. At the end of the celebration teachers were felicitated with rose and diary as a token of acknowledgement.

Date: 15th August, 2022

Purpose of the Activity: To celebrate the Independence Day

Outcome:
Student Council Celebrated Independence Day.  The celebration was attended by students, teachers and management.  The celebration continued in the auditorium.  The Council formation and oath taking by the members of the council was also done.  Students celebrated the day with pride and dignity.

Name of the Event: Death Anniversary of DR. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Date: 27th July, 2022

Time: 

Venue : Auditorium and Class Room

Purpose of the Activity: To Pay respects to the former President and missile man of India DR. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam
Outcome:

Student Council remembered Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam sir by decorating his photos and books with flowers in College  Auditorium.

Teachers and students lit lamps and paid their respects to Kalam Sir.

In remembrance of Kalam sir, Council had organised two competitions Elocution and Poster Painting.

Name of the Event: Teachers Day Celebration

Date: 6th September, 2022

Time: 11.00 m

Venue : Auditorium

Purpose of the Activity: To Celebrate the Teacher Day

Outcome:

Students paid their respect to teachers by delivering shayari’s and speech,  Games were arranged by the students for the teachers for their enjoyment. Cakes were cut by the teachers.  Teachers planted sapling on the event of teachers day celebration

Name of the Committee: Student Council 

Name of the Event: Mr. and Miss S.I.A. Competition

Date: 24th January, 2023

Time: 11.30 am and 12.00 pm

Venue : Auditorium

Purpose of the Activity: To provide a platform to the students to show case their talent.  This competition helps to identify the students who are good in communication and also help them to introspect themselves

Outcome: Students participated in great enthusiasm and the event was enjoyed by all.  Mrs. Rasika Shinde and Ms. Shweta Gopalakrishnan were the judges for the event.

Miss Vaishnavi Shinde from SYBCom and Mr. Dhanush Manoj from FYBscIT were the winners.

Name of the Committee: Student Council 

Name of the Event: Kargil Diwas

Date: 26th July, 2022

Time: 10.00 am to 2.00 pm

Venue : Auditorium

Purpose of the Activity:

Kargil Vijay Diwas or Kargil  Victory Day is celebrated every year on July  26 to commemoratethe historic  victory of India over Pakistan in the Kargil  war in 1999

Outcome: 

Student Council commemorated  Kargil Divas by organising an interesting Rangoli  competitionbased on the theme  " Being Patriotic, 75th Independence Day, Indian Armed Forces,

Peace.” The winner was  decided by the ballot system.  First price was bagged by Prachi Shinde and runner up by Anjali Acharya of FYBAF

Name of the Event: Gharba Workshop

Date: 21st September, 2022 to 23rd September, 2022

Time: 11.00 am to 12.30 pm 

Venue : Council Room 115

Purpose of the Activity: To bring the essence of traditional dance among the participants

Outcome: 

The garba workshop was led by talented members of student council – Hardeep Jadeja, Meet Kothari and Shreyansh Mehta.
The participants were taught garba steps, body movement and coordination techniques. The workshop received positive feedback from the participants.

The student instructors’ dedication and the participants’ enthusiasm contributed to the overall success of the workshop.
