Name of the event: Workshop on Napkin Bouquet Making

Date: 25th August, 2025.

Venue: The S.I.A College of Higher Education

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the college organized a Workshop on Napkin Bouquet Making on 25th  August, 2025. The Resource person for the workshop was Mrs. Urmila Vikas Samant of Rajrajeshwari Mahila Bachat Gat and her associates.

Objective: The session aimed to encourage creativity and entrepreneurial skills among students by introducing them to the art of crafting decorative napkin bouquets.

Outcome: A total of 22 students participated in the workshop, where they received hands on training from experienced instructors. Participants learned various techniques for folding, arranging, and presenting napkins in the form of elegant bouquets, which can be used for decorative purposes or as a small scale business idea.

The workshop was interactive and engaging, allowing students to explore their artistic abilities while understanding the potential of such crafts in the entrepreneurial market. Overall, the workshop was well-received, and the students expressed enthusiasm for attending more such skill-based training programs in the future.

Name of the event: Raising Finance for Business – Government Schemes for Entrepreneurs

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the college organised an expert session on "Raising Finance for Business: Government Schemes for Entrepreneurs” on Saturday, 13th September 2025 in the college auditorium. The session featured two distinguished speakers from the Bank of Maharashtra: Mr. Sushil Bagawe, Senior Manager, and Mrs. Vinita Kewlani, Deputy Manager.

Objective: The objective of the session was to familiarize students with various government initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and facilitating access to finance.

Outcome: A total of 69 students attended the session, which provided valuable insights into the financial challenges faced by start-ups and the support mechanisms available to overcome them. The speakers highlighted common obstacles such as lack of collateral, limited financial literacy, complex documentation, and difficulty in securing loans from traditional banking channels. Mr. Bagawe and Mrs. Kewlani elaborated on several key government schemes designed to empower entrepreneurs such as Startup India, Standup India, MUDRA Yojana, PMEGP, SIDBI etc. Mrs. Kewlani also shared real-life examples of successful entrepreneurs who had benefited from these schemes, demonstrating their impact in fostering innovation and generating employment.

Throughout the session, the speakers emphasised the importance of financial discipline, proper planning, and timely repayment of loans. Students were encouraged to explore digital platforms such as the Startup India portal and Udyam Registration to initiate their entrepreneurial journey with ease. The session was highly informative and engaging, offering a clear understanding of the financial avenues available to aspiring entrepreneurs. It served as a motivational and practical guide, equipping learners with the knowledge required to navigate the funding landscape and leverage government support effectively.

Name of the event: Workshop on Candle Making

Date: 15th September, 2025

Venue: The S.I.A. College of Higher Education (Autonomous)

Objective: The Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the college organized a candle making workshop on 15th September 2025, with the objective of fostering creativity, skill development, and hands-on learning among the students. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various classes. A total of 55 students including 32 males and 23 females participated in the workshop. The resource person for the workshop was Mrs. Urmila Vikas Samant and her associates.

Outcome: The resource persons guided the participants through the step-by-step process of making decorative and scented candles. Techniques such as molding, coloring, and fragrance infusion were demonstrated in detail. Students were encouraged to experiment with their own designs and ideas, thereby gaining practical exposure and enhancing their confidence in creative expression. The session proved to be highly engaging and enriching. Beyond artistic skill-building, it introduced students to the fundamentals of small-scale entrepreneurship, highlighting how creative hobbies can be transformed into viable business ventures.
